Levens Hall & Garden
Cumbria has many gardens open to the public and there are good nurseries and garden centres locally.
- Levens Hall - Magnificent Elizabethan mansion built around a 13th century pele tower. The famous topiary gardens were laid out in 1694
- Sizergh Castle - National Trust Property. Medieval house with portraits, fine furniture and ceramics. The garden includes 2 lakes and a superb rock garden.
- Holker Hall on Cartmel Peninsula. Magnificent House and Garden. Food Hall with Cumbria specialities.

St Michael's and All Angels Church, Beetham
The whole area is rich in wildlife and important for butterflies(High Brown Fritillary and Mountain Ringlet). The RSPB reserve at Leighton Moss is a few miles away where the rare Bittern frequents the reedbeds along with a great variety of other birds. Morecambe Bay and the Kent Estuary are designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (ANOB) and a visit to this unspoilt region will not disappoint.
